Google Favours Mobile-Friendly Websites

The last 2-3 years has seen a proliferation of “smart” devices like smart-phones, tablets, mini-tablets and now smart watches.

In a blog post, Google stated that “Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal.  This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimised for their devices.”

From the 21st April 2015, search engine results would never be the same again.  This means that if your site doesn’t pass the mobile friendliness test, then it will feature less prominently on its search engine results.

Here’s how you can test to find out if your website is mobile friendly:

The Drive By Websites’ solution to mobile-friendliness is commonly known as a “Responsive Website”. This is because sites resize and re-proportion themselves according to the device browsing them.  Our responsive solution solves the problem of multi-device support because our sites flow and re-flow to fit any size screen
